Well here's my list, at least I hope I can manage to do this!

Les Miserables- Victor Hugo *will finish reading this by the end of the summer if it kills me!!!*

In this book, the main character, Jean Valjean, makes a promise that causes him to risk his integrity and values. Of course, its a catch-22 because if he keeps his promise to Fantine, he would be prevented from confessing to a crime he commited many years earlier. If he doesn't keep his promise, her daughter may die or be a slave. I'm about halfway through, so hopefully I'll have finished it a least this month.
